Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie

Spent the weekend in Port Macquarie at the Ironman 70.3 race.
Congratulations to all of the crew competing over that distance for the first time and to Clint Kimmins for making the cut for the 70.3 World Championship in Las Vegas next year.
Tour de Valley 2012

Snuck out for a look at the Tour de Valley cycling time trial event in Currumbin Valley. Plenty of cool bikes and uncool lycra.
Smoko with Clipper
Caught up with Surfer/Lifeguard/Tri(hard)athlete Clint ‘Clipper’ Kimmins on his hard earned smoko break from patrolling the flags at Coolangatta beach today. Watching waves roll through the “office” all day must drive these guys nuts. Picked up a copy of the latest Australian Triathlete magazine on the way home. Has a good write up by Clint (and a few of my pics) about his first Ironman race in Cairns.
Ironman Cairns
Ducked up to NQ a couple of weeks ago to have a look at Ironman Cairns. Amazing athletes, great place and a heap of fun. Thanks to Luke McKenzie for driving me around and teaching me how to speak triathlon.
The boys checking in L-R Luke McKenzie, Mat Rogers, Clint Kimmins, Brett Carter
Bike racks
The weather came good the afternoon before race day
Luke 2nd place in the Cairns Airport 70.3
Mat finishing his first half ironman
Clint on the bike
Eden Saul on his way to qualifying for Kona
Clint crossing the line looking fairly healthy all things considered.
Well done lads.
