Over the Christmas break I photographed the 33-26 ride for charity: water. The crew left Bondi Beach on Boxing Day and arrived at Noosa on New Years Eve, a total of 1300km ridden with approx 14000m of elevation. Through their amazing efforts the team raised $73,000 for charity: water. Great scenery, great time.

John John Florence
Couple of oldies shot in Northern NSW in Feb this year but since John John Florence is the flavour of the month (well he kind of is every month…) I thought I’d stick ’em up. Love watching him surf even in rubbish waves like these ones. Dead set amazing.
(PS. Click on the last one and it should run as a sequence)
Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie
Spent the weekend in Port Macquarie at the Ironman 70.3 race.
Congratulations to all of the crew competing over that distance for the first time and to Clint Kimmins for making the cut for the 70.3 World Championship in Las Vegas next year.
Swim at The Spit
Went for a quick swim at the southern end of The Spit this morning. Looking back at the beach the contrast in the skyline is amazing. Concrete jungle to the south, trees and uncrowded beaches to the north.
I’ll take the view to the north any day…
Tour de Valley 2012
Snuck out for a look at the Tour de Valley cycling time trial event in Currumbin Valley. Plenty of cool bikes and uncool lycra.
Cool places…
The coolest places aren’t always the flash ones. This thing started out in 1919 as a church, moved and became a house in 1981 and for the last 5 or so years has been a recording studio. Best party house ever!
Bread & Butter
It’s not all fun and games this gig. Couple of jobs from the last week. Bills to pay…
Smoko with Clipper
Caught up with Surfer/Lifeguard/Tri(hard)athlete Clint ‘Clipper’ Kimmins on his hard earned smoko break from patrolling the flags at Coolangatta beach today. Watching waves roll through the “office” all day must drive these guys nuts. Picked up a copy of the latest Australian Triathlete magazine on the way home. Has a good write up by Clint (and a few of my pics) about his first Ironman race in Cairns.
Winter weather
Winter on the Gold Coast isn’t too tough. Warm water, offshore breezes and sunshine make for some good beach days. Couple of pics of Chris “Ibis” Bennetts taking advantage of the great conditions this week.
